Sheila Firestone

Biographical Information

Sheila Firestone, M.S. Ed. ,is retired from twenty-five years of teaching Elementary School gifted students. Her expertise lays in the area of communications and the humanities where she continues to develop curriculum and innovative means for helping students to express themselves joyfully in unique ways.

Sheila has also been a student of musical composition since 1987 when it was first discovered that she had a unique ability to create in various musical genres, from pop to post modern and neo-classical music, sacred choral works, as well as songs for children and meditation music.
Sheila served as the County Chairperson for the Dade County Very Special Arts Festivals from 1990-1993-4, and has been recognized in Who's Who in American Education since 1992. In1996, Firestone was named Educator of Note by the Young Patronesses of the Opera in Miami, Florida. She currently serves as patroness chapter president of the University of Miami, Sigma Alpha Iota, a National Music Sorority .
